I know this is a popular book for grade school children to read, but I read it as an adult.
Interesting book and dystopian concept. I did wish there was a bit more to the plot, world building, and character development. I think it could be more fleshed out. Towards the ending, I felt it wrapped up a bit quick and then just ended without a real, satisfying conclusion. I had questions. I was a bit confused by what happened towards the end with the Giver, the main character, and the memories. I think I just wanted more to the story in general and a real conclusion instead of an open-ended ending. I love the overall concept, and there were some good parts, but I think it just fell a bit flat. Maybe it would have been better if I'd read it as a kid and I had to analyze it. Worth a read, though, as it's so famous.
