I enjoyed this one a lot more than book 1. Still a very slow burn with little plot (far more plot than book 1 though), but Hobbs characters are so compelling that I didn't mind the pace. Nighteyes is such a great character and its a shame he doesn't have more page time. Prince Regal is easily one of the most detestable people I have ever read; him and all his minions are so well done i just love to hate them. The main issues I have with the series so far are: 1) the pacing. 2) the scale. while the worldbuilding has been very interesting, the world still feels small and the actions dont feel as impactful to the world or "kingdom" as they could be. like I feel like we Fitz should have gone with Verity, but i don't know...I'm curious what book 3 has in store. 3) there could be more action. there is very little action in the series so far and i feel like the pacing problem could have been helped a lot by having more action.
