Just a perfect piece of nonfiction! I was a good test case for this - I had seen 19/25 of the movies. A few of the ones I’d missed, I’m actually interested in watching having read the synopsis, and the others - well, I am just thankful that I never have to actually watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre, so thank you to Emily Hughes for saving me the time. This book contains a thorough synopsis of each movie, followed by a “Why It Matters” section, followed by a few “Say this at a party” tidbits/fun facts about each movie. At the end of each entry is a “Can’t watch it? Read this instead” section with thematic book suggestions (also great if you DID watch and want more, of course!)

I don’t buy a lot of physical books these days, but Quirk books really did a great job with the physical object. The design and colors are fun, it’s a good size, and I’m glad to have it as a physical object on top of the great content it contains.
