Jeweled Fire by Sharon Shinn

3.0

Didn't realize this was the third book in a series. I think I would have appreciated it far more if I'd read the previous two, as much of its heroine's backstory played out in the two previous books in the series. But even so, the story here isn't all that engaging, perhaps because our heroine is pretty much a bystander, with not much at stake in the outcome of the machinations of the court of the country she is visiting as a potential bride to one of the 3 heirs to the country's throne. Still, love Shinn's writing, and her fantasy societies. Will have to go back and check out the earlier books in the series.
