The MMC calling the FMC “kitten” was icky, the FMC (a grown woman) calling her dad “Daddy” just felt immature. The inner dialogue sometimes felt unnecessary and was sometimes just small declarative statements which didn’t bring a lot to the story line. Once I realised I was skimming the text and just going straight to the parts where the characters spoke, I realised it was a DNF for me.
