But all stars in the world just for Wangxian!

I love them, your honor–

Honestly, as someone who only speaks and reads Mandarin passably, I can't attest much to the quality of the translation, but at least, it didn't make me drop the book quickly and I can get through it even better than the English fan translation, so I guess, it is an improvement?

(Of course, there was a certain point in the book that I was 100% sure it was a mistranslation because it is very basic Mandarin that I can certainly understand without any doubt (I had seen this exchange in the original language), which was very, very unfortunate for an official translation.)

But translation issues aside, I simply cannot recommend the story itself enough. I've gushed about this story a lot, and still, I feel that more people should be reading this.

Actually, my main criticism still persists in this book, aka annoying chunks of info-dumping that should've handled better, but aside from that, Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation is a romantic, mystery epic that spans for years in yearning, war, and tragedy with amazingly fleshed out characters and themes. Get ready to pack some tissues if you're reading the whole thing, but rest assured, the first volume is a hilarious, entertaining, and charming prelude to the entire story overall, with a whole landmine for us to indulge in the comedy and light-heartedness of the characters. Honestly, just read this book for some oblivious characters that will make you want to bonk them in the head, the slowest of slow-burns in history, some mystery adventures, rivals-to-friends-to-'enemies'-to-lovers between our two protagonists, and some morally grey characters that you can't simply wholly blame.
