I feel a very complicated way about this book. On the one hand, Nghi Vo can WRITE. the writing is lush and captivating - no complaints there. I think it was more faithful to the original story than I was expecting which means even though Jordan is our perspective character this is Daisy and Gatsby's story and I was way more interested in Jordan and the few sections that are exclusively about her. The magic was interesting but I wanted it to be more important to the grand scheme of the story. Also, this book is extremely bisexual and horny. I liked a lot of it because of this aspect but sometimes the characters constant desire to smooch and fuck everyone felt overwhelming and slowed down the story. So basically I feel extremely complex because sometimes I was super into what this book was doing and sometimes I wasn't at all
