The Book of Dirt
by Bram Presser
A brilliant novel by local Melbourne author Bram Presser. It's a kind of mix between non-fiction and fiction, based on Presser's grandparents and featuring long sections where Presser talks about them in the first person and his quest to find out about them. I've read a lot of books about the Shoah, but Presser has a unique angle and tells it with a lot of artfulness.
