What can I say other than she did it again? When I was granted the privilege of being able to read this as an ARC I was over the moon and while time prevented me from reviewing sooner I wish I had been able to tell more people about it.
Just a Little Magic follows the story of long-term best friends Owen and Barret (Bear) and how it works to balance a working relationship, a friendship to last the ages, and a budding romance neither of them quite know how to get into.
With the mishaps and tropes you would expect to happen in any romcom, Kerry Kilpatrick once again takes the tropes for a positive spin. I will be the first to admit that the whole RomCom genre throws me off in large part due to deceptions or betrayals happening that never get resolved and always seem to leave one character not only worse off but forgotten. Never have I had to worry about that in one of Kerry Kilpatrick’s books. Friends, even ones who make mistakes, actually act as friends and the sense of love and community they share is both believable and refreshing. And did I mention there’s a cat? 10/10.
This is definitely a book I will be reading again and can’t wait to purchase a physical copy to keep on hand not only when I need a little pick-me-up but also to remember that there’s just a little magic in the world.
