I’m very conflicted about this book. I can see the vision of it but the implantation is lacking. It felt like I was reading a vision board of characters that were supposed to be in this book but not a complete story. I was mostly irritated that it was a book about four women but there was such a focus on men, boyfriends, fiancées and so on. All four characters were intriguing but barely went anywhere. Especially Kadiatous storyline was at times very stereotypical and problematic. I appreciated the Author’s note and reading about the real life case but at the same time the explanation made it even worse for me personally. I wished either it would’ve been main focus of the book or that the plot of the Chiamaka, Omelogor, Zikora would’ve been more lighthearted or at least more about them and not focused on men sooooo much.
