Worms Of the Earth by Robert E. Howard

Absolute all-time banger. Amazing.

"Terrible was the power of Rome ... but Titus Sulla played fox to a dangerous eagle when he baited the highland Pict-king whose fens bred magic more deadly than the bite of Caesar's swords...."

I'm sure I read it before in that REH collection I have, but man... I dunno if it's the cabin fever or what but it really hit home this time. Every paragraph is just batshit insane. Truly wild stuff. Paced back and forth while reading this, struggling not to shout every sentence out loud.
