I really liked this book, but Jade, the main character, is a mess, and it'll take a minute to acclimate yourself to her crazy. I'll fully own that this book lands in a sweet-spot for me, so I'm going to skew toward liking it because it's a well-written book with a tight perspective, and a quirky lead, but even with that it took me a couple tries to get into it. Jade's tenuous grasp on reality leads to some seriously cringey moments.
Lot of people down in 1-Star land are kvetching because "It's Boring" and "OMG trigger warning!", so yes, if you have no patience for a slow build (which in this case is literally following the Slasher movie formula that the whole book is shaped around), or if you're the sort of crazy person who reads horror, but can't tolerate even the mention of some off camera sexual assault, then this book is not for you.
