This series is high fantasy, involved, and rich. I love it. It is not a quick, racy read. -So if you pick it up, be prepared to invest, track multiple story-lines, and become familiar with a half a dozen chief characters and their companions. The action in it is steady and not nearly as encumbered as Sanderson’s works (IYKYK). This is a satisfying sequel to Of Blood and Fire.
