The Little Book of Ikigai: The Essential Japanese Way to Find Your Purpose in Life by Ken Mogi

3.0

Ikigai, according to Ken Mogi, consists of Five Pillars :

Pillar 1: Starting small
Pillar 2: Releasing yourself
Pillar 3: Harmony and sustainability
Pillar 4: The joy of little things
Pillar 5: Being in the here an now

While having a mindset that potentially changed lives called Ikigai, practicing it supposedly could make lives more fulfilling and the people, healthy. The knowledge gathered from reading IKIGAI is a stark contrast from what most of us have known of the way the Japanese whom mostly from the big cities like Tokyo are living their lives; no time-off from working, less public holidays, workaholics, etc.

I came to a conclusion, that Ikigai might have slightly different meanings to certain people. But to sum it off, its really about living life mindfully, appreciatively and gratefully.

Although I appreciate the insights this book has given me, its lacking of clarity to what it initially wants to offer as per the synopsis.
