Local Woman Missing by Mary Kubica

Ehh. Everything about this felt boring to me for some reason. The first 50 pages had me. I was so invested. But as we discover what’s actually happening, I lost interest. I was hoping for a serial killer situation, and that’s not what this is. The most interesting parts are red herrings, and I don’t like that. The ending twist was not one I saw coming, but after reading 300 pages by that point, I really didn’t care. It was easily readable, and I can see the appeal. It just didn’t give me enough.
Not the worst book I’ve read, but the ending couldn’t save it from being a 2⭐️.
