The Earthsea Trilogy by Ursula K. Le Guin

5.0

I love this book so much, probably one of the best fantasy tales I've ever read. Personally, I prefer the first book because the focus is more on Ged, and he's more my age so it's easier to imagine yourself in the book. Haha. I still love the second book though and I'm partway through the third. The great thing is all the different outcomes and hints at what will happen, which keep you guessing and guessing, and none of your guesses are confirmed until you read it in the book, which is what really makes it hard to tear away from and get on with real life. Now I've finished it I can say that even though she hasn't spent time characterising each person, their spirit sticks with you, to the point of reaching an ending which is neither overly happy nor sad that still manages to invoke a great sadness in you, that you've finished the book and can't live with the characters any more. There's a lot more I'd like to put here but I don't want to talk about it and give things away. I wish I could live in this book.
