A quick read that was unexpectedly good 🏍🏳️‍🌈🏁❤️‍🔥

I thought this book would be just a gritty enemies to lovers story, and it was, but it also had heart and real world problems. I liked that it didn't romanticize poverty and that they weren't homophobic. The main couple's relationship made sense and they had chemistry. Some of the dialogue was immature but then you remember this is from the pov of uneducated poor young men so the immaturity is realistic. The backstory with their parents added depth and made it relatable to me - but not all readers will find this relatable. Some readers might even find their parents unrealistically bad, but trust me it's realistic for some people.

I like the hopeful ending, like despite everything they can get their own safe place and live the life they want, even if it's not glamorous or luxurious. I'll be reading the next book 😎

My fave quotes:
"I was nothing but a bank, a burden, and a bitch to my dad."

"It was time we all stopped acting like parents to parents who never treated us like kids."
