The audiobook narration is incredible! This story is gripping to the point where I sat in my chair and just listened for a couple of hours. I'm so glad they got Ann Dowd to narrate her own character. Stepping into the mind of Aunt Lydia is fascinating. This book provides a lot of details about the sides of Gilead that aren't ad known. We get to learn what it's like to grow up in Gilead. I also appreciated learning more about the Aunts.
My main complaint is that the ending felt rushed.I'm grateful that Hannah and Nicole are okay, but I wanted more of the aftermath. I wanted to see how Hannah adjusts to Canada and the relationships she develops with her newfound family. I just needed more closure to make the ending satisfying for me.
My main complaint is that the ending felt rushed.
Graphic: Child abuse, Suicide
