i really enjoyed this book, it's a pretty lightweight fantasy that keeps you glued to the pages, and it's a perfect beach read. I found Ren a very interesting proagonist, and her struggle with racial identity was put in an incredibly realistic way. On the other hand, the worldbuilding and magic system felt very vague and unexplored, leaving you with the constant feeling of something missing.
