Educated by Tara Westover

Her courage and her writing ...I'm speechless. Difficult but must read.

Educated is a memoir of Tara Westover where she shares her experience and her horrific childhood with a family where her father is bipolar, her brother is a bully and her mother a sad weak soul. The journey of Tara was saddening but also journey of her mother is depressing, she gradually turns herself into something that she isn’t and fell under the spell of her husband.

I picked this book blind-folded without knowing anything about her and this book. As i wasn't prepared for all the bullying and abuses, I felt such a unease while reading this. It was a powerful book but readers must be prepared for the content.

Talking about Tara, oh god she is a survivor, a courageous woman. Those thing that I felt unease to read, she went through all this and survived and still fighting for her with this book. She taught Algebra to herself, went to University of Cambridge without any proper homeschooling or any kind of school education is simply mind blowing.
And her parents, i never thought such type of people even exist in the society. I'm glad to have born in place where my parents and grandparents had right mind to trust the EDUCATION and to distinguish between Belief and Superstition.
