This is really a 3.5 nearly 4 but some of the content for me was a bit over the top in parts. Not that this detracted from the story but this book is not for the faint hearted as there are some gross moments of eating! The writing its self is brilliant although some of the words i had to look up, this author is a poet and you can tell by the beautiful prose and descriptions. What i did take away from this book is it reminded me in a way of Frankenstein in the way the main character is portrayed as a monster when really it’s society itself that has turned him in a way into what he is. If only he had had love and understanding then things may have been different. At the end i was moved by the way this characters journey ended and it gave food for thought (no pun intended) by the way we perceive people or what we are led to believe and how that can then lead them to see themselves. This is the second book I’ve read of this author and i will eagerly see what she does next.
