Wrangled Love by Ann Einerson
4.25
Giddy up, y'all- cause Ann Einerson basically is writing all my catnip tropes in Wrangled Love. Single dad (with a twist), brother's best friend, age gap, and nanny romance?! It's all the forbidden deliciousness I crave yet wrapped up in a sugar sweet, low angst, small town charm happy bow. It's all the quick and easy feel good endearingness you'd expect from Ann, just now with the cowboy flair. Same heartfelt love story, charming characters, and just the right balance of heart and heat. Yee-haw.
I love a single dad- and I especially love a story with a twist, here with Jenson who finds out he's a dad. Of a 5 year old boy. Now a solo parent since the mother of the son he didn't know he had has passed away. He's a workaholic NYC tech guy, but he doesn't hesitate to turn his life upside for his son, moving back home to Bluebell, to give his son the support and focus he needs while he's grieving his mom and getting to know his new father, now guardian. Gah, poor little guy. It just tugs on the heart strings. Now Jensen's back at Silver Saddle Ranch reconnecting with his found family and friends, including Briar, his best friend's sister, who is now ALL grown up and irresistible. And his new nanny.
This one is just all sugary sweet, clouds and feel good warm hugs. Brian and Jensen are both lovable characters, have great and sincere chemistry, and are so cute together. They have so many sweet and vulnerable moments, but also some great banter too. And Jensen is DELICIOUS in the bedroom. I love a city man turned cowboy again with a dirty mouth. The tension builds beautifully thanks to Jensen being so out of water with his new kiddo and the forced proximity.
And I also adored Caleb, Jensen's son. This story is equal parts his journey of finding hew new family and healing his broken little heart. There are so many heart-tugging moments big and small, and Jensen and Briar are both so great with him. Just too stinking cute.
I can't wait for more in Silver Saddle Ranch! (and I also hope we get this on audio)
