Maybe 3 1/2. I love the concept of this book, with 7 embedded mystery novellas within the main story arc. Something about each mystery fell a little flat for me, which is revealed as you read the main plot, but, occasionally that would take me out of the book and I wasn't always compelled to pick it back up. Definitely a lot to discuss for book club, though.
