The Assassin and the Healer
by Sarah J. Maas
Series: Throne of Glass
First Book: Throne of Glass
This is the prequel to a 7 book series. (.5 of 7)
Completed Series
Original series (not a spin off/not same world as previous series but same universe as ACOTAR and Crescent City and I believe it'll all tie together at the end of ACOTAR)
Spice: 1/5 (Glimpses and Kisses based on romance.io)
NOT Available on Kindle Unlimited
First Release Date: 2012
So I think I went into Throne of Glass expecting something different. But that doesn't mean it isn't great. A friend of mine called it "life changing". So the most likely scenario is that I'm missing something. I would consider this series young adult and the romance is a smaller percentage than I'm used to in romantasy. It still exists but there's much more plot. Very little spice but also just less tension and relationship plot. The characters are all amazing and I look back on them all fondly. I still love this series!
The prequel was amazing and set up so many amazing plot points later in the series! Be sure to read in the right order. I'm never a fan of reading a prequel first because that's not how character development works but you have to read it before Heir of Fire.
My rating: 4/5 (Unpopular opinion. I know. Don't kill me!)
I would recommend this book/series!
Specifically for:
- young adult romantasy readers
- readers that want to be "part of the action". Everyone talks about this series and you'll be left out if you don't read it.
