I really wish this had been the final book in the series. Cuz it's good. A wee bit rushed, and you get the feeling thst the author is ready to be done with them because it's nit quite as meaty as the last book, but still good
It gets dark. A lot of the characters are dealing with the aftermath of deep trauma or are still in it. And you wish for their sakes that it was done. The fate of Orcades struck me as a little off, she has this history that where this story leaves her is a bit underwhelming.
Like I said, you get the feeling the author wants to be done but is stretching it out for a 4th book so what we get in this one doesn't feel as meaty and complete as the last.
I'm undecided if I'm going to dive into the final book right away or not.
