The Bands of Mourning by Brandon Sanderson
5.0

The Bands of Mourning was a really fast paced book that kept me reading on and on. I love the characters, especially the development of Wax and Steris' relationship. I feel like this is the first book in Era 2 where the stakes are a little higher (end of the world-y) which is a change of pace from the previous 2 books.

The introduction of a whole new group of people outside the Basin was unexpected, though I did wonder if Harmony really created a planet where people only inhabited a tiny portion of it. This answers my question a little bit and added a lot of tension to the end of the book. There are now multiple points of conflict that the characters have to face.

This book also starts touching into the Cosmere outside of Scadrial and I'm excited to see how these connections play out.
