Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
4.0

a hallmark mystery focused on ‘who committed the murder on  the orient express?’

love poirot. he’s clever, he’s witty, he’s brilliant.

whilst i was a bit let down with the pivotal twist, it suited the story. truthfully, it was a bit trite.

the more fascinating aspect of this book was how poirot clues in on every detail and can piece together what happened in a sea of lies.

“poirot twinkled.”

“the most kind, the most amiable are not always the cleverest.”

“if you wish to catch a rabbit you put a ferret into the hole, and if the rabbit is there he runs.”

“if you confront anyone who has lied with the truth, they usually admit it —often out of sheer surprise.”
