I took a few hours to really think about this one because of the mixed feelings it has given me

Personally, I didn't actually vibe with these characters at all. I wanted to, but they didn't feel relateable at all

On top of that, I didn't laugh. Not once. How can a dark rom com not make me laugh? That's a bad sign, right? The jokes just didn't land

Despite this, the darker aspects of this book were well done. They were exciting, interesting, and pretty gruesome

One of the main reasons that this isn't rated lower, though, is the spice. That's where I finally vibed with this story. The spice was perfectly written, and it had just the right amount of crazy for the characters.

I just wish the actual romance was just as exciting. I think that felt like it came out of nowhere to me. He just decided he was in love. It felt forced purely from necessity rather than actual love

And don't get me started on the proposal. That wasn't it at all. I can see how people would like this story, but for me, it didn't connect

Overall, I wouldn't say this was terrible. It just didn't hit right.
