Loneliness Is My Best Friend by Alvi Syahrin
5.0
Reading Loneliness Is My Best Friend by Alvi Syahrin doesn't feel like reading at all, it feels more like the book is talking to me. It feels like I'm in a ship, treading calm waters for the whole journey.
- I admit that I bought this book out of curiosity, but it ends up exceeding my expectations. I reached 100 pages in one sitting, and for a non fiction book making me commit like that, is really something.
- I'm an extrovert and my life is surrounded by people most of the time, but on some days I do feel lonely so when the book says that the loneliness can come to us in whatever situation we are in, I really can relate with that. The book further explains on how we can make peace with the loneliness and how we can utilize it for our benefits so it won't drag us down, but keep us moving forward with our lives.
- The book also tackles the feeling in friendship and even within family relations. This topic here makes me re-visit those times from primary school to the working life which I realized that at some point, there are some incidents that will make me feel so sad and broken without any understanding of why is everything like this happening to me.
- All in all, I do feel like I somehow found myself within the pages and it's very wonderful to know that my feelings over these years are valid.
