Certain Girls
by Jennifer Weiner
While I really enjoyed spending more time with Cannie, and getting to meet Joy as a tween...I was not as impressed with this novel as I was with 'Good In Bed'. The alternating perspectives of both mother and daughter were sometimes awkward, and I didn't feel as closely connected to Cannie as I did in the first book. I wasn't overly thrilled with a lot of her parental choices and just felt she would have been a different kind of mother than she was.
The ending was a total shocker, and while I don't have a problem with that...I'm still not sure how I feel about it. I don't know if it really worked or not.
Still, for those who loved Good In Bed, it's worth a read. And I hope there is another story about these wonderful ladies in the future.
