The first half of the book was so gentle and good to my heart, but then the second part punched my heart over and over again. In the end, the plot twists were so good and amazing, I tried to process everything as fast as possible because I couldn't stop reading. I did remember some of those plot twists, but not the majority of them so they took me by surprise.
My love for Chaol did grow in this book like years ago, but also, I can now understand why so many don't like him. His decisions were not wise and I wanted to slap him a few times, but I can also understand that he did what he thought was for the best. I am not as in love with him as I was years ago, but I still like him a lot and I am looking forward to reading more about him.
As for Dorian, I want to protect him at all costs. He is so good and noble and he deserves the best. Years ago I didn't give him enough credit, now I see how wrong I was.
Anyway, I am so excited to read the next book!
