I feel this was a bumpy ride.  I had an enjoyable time reading the story, but I wasn't completely captivated at times.  I liked getting introduced to the different lands and the characters that ruled there. I had a couple of laugh-out-loud moments.  I was surprised by some of the emotional moments because I was not expecting to be that impacted by them. To be honest, I forgot who some of these characters were, however, that's on me for not refreshing my memory before.  I'm not as panicked by the ending as others are because I have read similar plots with the hopeless theme, and it tends to work out usually, so I still have faith. I think it is important to keep in mind that we are only halfway through the series, so I'm mentally prepared for the struggle. The cliff-hanger also felt abrupt and could've been drawn out a little more for emotional impact. Regardless, I still love this series.
