The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle
3.0
A collection of 12 short stories. I love Sherlock Holmes, I promise I do. However, I found these short stories lacking. With each story being around 20 to 30 pages each, the sudden ending of each story left me feeling like "Is that it?" I felt unsatisfied. It was missing red herrings, character development, and the thickening of a plot. Plus, each story almost begins the same way and a formula starts to appear that each story follows. I truly love full length Sherlock mysteries. If you are looking to begin reading Sherlock novels, this should not be the place to start, it may leave a bad first impression. Sherlock is where the whole mystery genre began, and these short stories may leave you with not a true picture of who and what he truly was.
