They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

4.0

Okay, lets discuss the book title - could the Adam Silvera really give away the end of the book? I walked in to this one with two mindsets. One, I was either going to be a blubbering mess throughout, tears staining the pages of the book, or two, I was going to be deceived and it would end up being a HEA after all. A las, it was NEITHER.

This was a book that really made me think and feel, not only for the characters, but also my own life! It made me question how fulfilling my life has been so far and what I would do differently – no regrets!

The storyline, I feel, was f**ked up! How would you feel if you received an ‘alert’ telling you that you would die today! What would you do to make it count?
I actually like the way that it was written and adding the time at the start of each chapter was definitely a good touch, building the angst of the over all telling of the story. The story of the protagonists was heart warming and gutting at the same time, making each activity count while trying to avoid the inevitable – there was a few tears shed.

I have rated this a good 4/5. I was expecting floods of tears reading this but, for me, it more thinking and reflecting.
