The way that Maas writes her fictional worlds is so fascinating. I thoroughly enjoy the way that she develops the worlds + the characters, thus the reason I have rated this pretty high. I really enjoyed the way that Maas even threw in some plot twists—definitely unexpected but gladly welcomed! There was one part of this book where it felt as though Maas punched me in the heart because I had such a strong expectation for something, but I love the twists. I also appreciate her bringing more characters into the picture and going more in depth with them than I would expect too!

I do not like smut and there was more of it in this book than in the first, but it’s fairly easy to skip over.
