I keep trying with Alison. Much like how everyone loves brene brown and I don't, I feel as though I just can't connect here. We'll see tho.

EDIT: I frickin' LOVED this book. Sure, it took me wayyyy longer than I would've liked to get through it, but honestly I quite liked savoring this one. Typically I get lost in too many characters' storylines, but she seamlessly weaved in everyone's unique neurosis and dramas. She made what would seem like annoying banter to feel quite funny and almost hit too close to home ;-) The fact that issues in the 80s/90s/early 2000s are basically the same as today is unnerving and sad. And to see these characters develop over decades (while remaining the same age-ish, but still growing) was a delight that I didn't want to end. I was also excited to finally find some literature of hers that I actually enjoyed. Her other books just didn't hit me in the heart. This one did. Bravo for such a feat!
