It's been a few years since I've read this graphic novel and I'm really glad I took the time to sit down and reread it. The entire book is STUNNING visually and I could get lost for hours just looking at details in the art. And the story telling is still so intense and lovely and, even second time around, I was gasping and clutching at my heart so many times. This book will always be one of my favorites and I would give it a billion stars if I could. I really appreciate books that have a lot of history in their world building that isn't always explained but you can visually see it's there, like in the buildings they're helping to restore. I love the concept of the spaceships being these loving and alive looking fish that are swimming through the great unknown. And of course, the character development is just striking to witness as the story progresses. I already am looking forward to reading this one again.
