The voice of the book is a very dreamy, murky style which makes it hard to discern what's real and what's not within the narrative. This kind of style doesn't always work for me, but it served the story well in this case. The book was very dramatic and intriguing and filled with a dreadful kind of horror, and I enjoyed watching everything unravel.
