Gosh, I struggled with this. I can tell the author is a good writer and I know this by the last 1/3rd of the book being pretty good but, the beginning and even some of the middle lost me. I can only get into so much lore before theres too much going on, and this book really whacks you over the head with lore and backstory that’s good to know but hard to remember ALL of it. I felt like I got lucky with what I was able to remember but this is very lore-dense. I really started gaining interest over halfway through the book, but once I figured out the full truth, and
once the wedding plot came up
this lost my attention. I thought the premise was fascinating but I wanted so much more from this book. Its not bad but I think there’s some tightening up that couldve happened to make this an easier to follow read.
