I liked this. The premise of the story is actually really interesting and i loved that the FMC was a strong fighter with bad bitch energy. She was a bit of a pick-me, but whatevs. I loved the highlighted importance of female friendship with Wyn. They were basically sisters who found family in eachother after being discarded by their own. i wish we got more time with them together. I liked Thorn as well, although he was really mysterious and at the end i didnt like him as much (his motives were sus and unclear). it seems as though they are fated mates, with their intense pull and attraction to eachother that cant be helped. They cannot resist the pull to the other, but this hasnt been stated yet. TBD.

It could definitely have used more world building, as we still dont know why the Magic-Touched or Moon Marked exist and what exactly that means. We dont know why the King is so anti-magic either. These are used and referred to many times, but without a full explanation of why they occur. Hopefully we will learn more about the world and magic in the next book.

I wish we got more of Thorn’s POV, as we only got like 2 chapters with him. Although I think it was purposeful to keep the reader guessing about his motives, it also went on for like 20-30% of the book, which left me wanting.

We still dont know Thorn’s motives, so this definitely ended on a cliff hanger (next book isnt out until winter so that sucks).
