An absolutely stellar series finally. I feel like I was holding my breath the entire time which is my favorite indicator of a great fantasy. And speaking of fantasy, what a breath of fresh air this series was. I haven't been so invested in a story like this one in so log that I forgot the feeling of apprehension you get when waiting for all the shoes to drop.
I cannot write about this book without mentioning the romance, which was a great accompaniment to the fantasy plot. How these two were one of the most frustrating but satisfying couples I've ever encountered. The first two books was such a fun kind of slow burn but Tale of the Heart Queen brought them even closer than I thought possible.
I'm so glad this series exists for people can read diverse and inclusive romantasy where things are not an afterthought. I definitely see myself rereading this series in the future.
Thank you Forever and NetGalley for my advanced copy!
