Reading this book was weird!!!! My feelings went very back and forth. I am not a big fan of alternate history of historical fiction so the setting wasn't my favorite. I liked the main character most of the time but not always. The love story felt really forced and strange to me. I really like the prose and the actual meat of the time-travel story!! I genuinely felt surprised and emotional by many of the reveals. I wanted to rate this 5 stars because it feels like it should be right up my alley but I can't put my finger on what exactly makes it less than 5. *shrug*
