The Crown of Gilded Bones by Jennifer L. Armentrout

5.0

You can find my full review for this as well as other books on my blog here

I honestly have no idea where to even begin with this review.

I binged all 3 books in this series in fairly quick succession and now I am obsessed.

I started off with FBAA not entirely convinced most of the way through but liking it by the end. AKOFAF was a lot better and then ACOGB blew me away.

I’m not going to write a gushing review claiming it as the perfect book because it was definitely not perfect. It suffered from the same problems as the previous two books with regards to way too much filler and recycled jokes and smut scenes and I think I covered by thoughts on that pretty well in my review for AKOFAF.

So with my criticisms out of the way, let’s get to the good stuff!

First of all, THAT ENDING! What the hell even was that? I obviously will not spoil it for those of you who have yet to read it but ill just say that I am still reeling even after finishing it weeks ago. I am really looking forward to the next book to find out how everything plays out.

It was an excellent ending but a massive cliff-hanger so that is both a good and a bad thing but it certainly leaves you wanting needing more!

We have more of Poppy and Casteel, more development of them as characters and of course more romance smut.

We have more of Kieran, did I mention how much I love Kieran? He is such a fabulous character!

Tonnes of funny banter, a LOT of action and magic and gods and sex and fun and just EVERYTHING.

This really is a series that gets stronger and more addictive the more you read. You fall in love with the world and the characters and it takes you on an emotional rollercoaster that by the time you step off you aren’t sure if you want to laugh, cry or punch something.

I know I’ve said it before but the character development throughout these books really is fantastic. I didn’t think we even had more to learn about Poppy but this book still managed to surprise me with even more of her history and now I feel like she is a completely different person to who she was when we first met in FBAA.

The world is ever expanding adding new characters and creatures and it is just awesome.

I don’t know what else I can say except why is March 2022 so far away?! This wait will be torture.
