Victorious
by Jack Campbell
Look, the title of the book tells you what happens. There are really no surprises here. It's a nice wrap-up of the series, but this book lacks so many dramatic military engagements that were in the other books. (If those were your favorite parts, you might not like this book.)
The series gets more or less wrapped up, Black Jack saves the day, and after it all, there is a completely ridiculous scene straight out of a rom-com. It seemed a little out of character for the gruff military SF feeling, but I will admit I found adorable. (I admit, I occasionally like that sort of thing. And happy endings for deserving characters? And actually *ending* a series instead of drawing sh*t out forever (*cough*[a:Robert Jordan|6252|Robert Jordan|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1175475715p2/6252.jpg]*cough*) is lovely to see.)
