This Common Secret: My Journey as an Abortion Doctor by Susan Wicklund, Alan Kesselheim

5.0

After the first few pages, I wasn't sure I'd be able to stomach the sadness in this book, but I'm really glad I soldiered through. Dr Wicklund's re-telling of her experiences as an abortion doctor are powerful and engaging. As a woman who lives in the bubble of New York City, its liberal attitudes, and within progressive communities, I've never had direct contact with the tales in this book about the horrendous treatment American abortion doctors have received.
