Illusions: The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah by Richard Bach

3.0

An interesting review to write about a book with an interesting concept.

Since I became a voracious reader, I came to the realization that the wisdom and profound moments that I discover are in the more peculiar and quaint novels with hidden messages, as opposed to the hard, scientific non-fiction books about life and happiness. This book was earmarked to be just that, but it didn't quite slap like I'd hoped.

The book itself was really easy to read and was relatively small. It was most curious how Bach made himself the protagonist. The message of our world is what we make it based on our perceptions and that our own reality is formed through our own thoughts and beliefs didn't resonate with me all that much... it felt like a bit of a stretch.

I don't dislike this book at all, it just wasn't as enlightening as was advertised.
