Pageboy by Elliot Page

4.0

Listened to as an audiobook!

4/5 stars noting that I probably would have rated it 3/5 if I had physically read it. Hearing it read out by Elliot himself had so much power and emotional weight to it. It was choppy to follow at times and due to this I found it easy to forget other people Elliot mentioned throughout the book. I grew up watching him on screen and followed a lot of the dark parts of his journey. His journey through queerness - while wildly different - was parallel to mine, and Pageboy gave me the privilege of delving into his mind while all of this occurred, an insight I never had while growing up.

Elliot Page’s journey is rife with heartbreak, dysphoria, and grief, but he highlights the break of day between clouds of grey. A hopeful tone at the end of an arduous journey.
