This was both frustrating and depressing. It’s so sad to me that she still follows her church after all the ways her faith facilitated her abuse both by her mother and men in her church. I’m not saying the church promoted it; but her faith absolutely set the stage for the child abuse by her mom and the sexual abuse by an older man. For the former, dogma that we are all born sinners and are only saved by god and that you will be tested and also, in terms of the blogging insanity, the public testimony as an article of faith. For the latter, raising kids with absolute obedience to men in positions of authority plus total ignorance is essentially grooming them all as great victims. And when she was victimized, they blamed and punished her and the guy faced no consequences.
