Heartless Hunter is just one of those underrated fantasy books that make a mark on your life! I had high expectations for Rune & Gideon and the hype is so well-deserved. Kristen Ciccarelli created such an exceptional tale of a powerful witch living a double life as an aristocrat hellbent on revenge for her kind, and the Captain of the King’s Guard desperate to catch the elusive Crimson Moth. But what happens if you fall in love with the man who’s supposed to kill you? 

WHOEVER RECOMMENDED THIS BOOK TO ME COUNT YOUR FUCKING DAYS

The tension and the angst in this book were absolutely top tier! Told in dual POVs, Rune & Gideon had wonderful chemistry, and I enjoyed the yearning from their forbidden attraction to each other. In this book, we have morally grey characters who remain steadfast with their opposing principles that gave the story the feeling of walking on a tightrope. The amazing world-building is just one of the good things this book has to offer, along with its nerve-wracking storytelling (I was on edge the entire time no matter the scene T__T). A book about witches? HAH! This book is a bittersweet tale about friendship, betrayal, and retribution. It was perfectly balanced between romance and its main plot but prepare to get your heart taken out of your chest and stepped on multiple times <3 

I just wish I got a warning for the last few chapters my eyes were literally swollen shut oh my god??? I’m not even being dramatic here. It was genuinely painful despite the fact that I expected it since the beginning. I wish I just got stabbed at that point LMAO 

Anyway, runegideon you will always be loved by me! (thanks for ripping my heart out of my chest I truly appreciate it)
