Summer's Coven by Charles Franklin, Charles Franklin

5.0

First of all, thank you Charles for the author's note, it was beautiful and personal so that it influenced the way I read the book and I got to appreciate Riley's story line even more.
I read this book as an ARC (thank you so much Charles for my first ever ARC) and I loved it. It follows the story of Tobi and Riley and it takes off right where the Ghosts of Minera Spring ends. In this book the main characters are a bit older than in the first book and I think it reflects in the scary elements of the story. Tobi and Riley are healing from everything they suffered in the first book, but as things start looking up young men start winding up dead and hanging from trees with symbols carved on their bodies. Could it be that the witches no one believed were real actually exist? At about 40% of the book you will be so intrigued you'll be unable to put the book down. Or at least that was my case.
As well as in the first if the series, this book has a bit of everything, it is cute and funny and scary at the same time which I really appreciate. Overall I really enjoyed this read and I can't wait to see what happens with Tobi and Riley in the next one❤️
